Asterope Team attends AIAA SciTech Forum: AIAA events are attended by Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, NASA’s Glenn Research Center, Northrop Grumman, GE Global, Air Force Research Lab and many other industry-leaders. The shows include demonstrations of current and future products, as well as a series of academic and private sector research presentations in break-out sessions. The event provides our executive team and key consultants with a look at industry innovation on the ground floor.

Asterope advisor, Commander Ellis Gayles coordinated an extensive tour for the team at the Miramar Air Base to help educate and demonstrate the varying applications and current needs for Asterope’s unique cable and wire technology.

Team Building: Asterope core Aerospace Team includes seasoned consultants, advisors, and engineers who convene to discuss and develop technology that best meets the specific demands of mission critical aircraft, whether in current or emerging technologies. Asterope’s ongoing mission is develop high performance products to meet the specific needs of any project or environment.

Dariush Rad: Founder and President of Asterope, LLC (Copy)

Dariush Rad is an executive, entrepreneur and technologist with a history of successfully identifying new-market opportunities across a variety of industries. He founded Asterope in 2009 and has since continued to develop the company’s breakthrough technology, while establishing an internationally respected brand, global sales channels, and opportunities to explore alternative applications and markets for Asterope’s unique technology..

Edgar Von Trotha: Principal Engineer, The Boeing Co. (Copy)

Ed has over 20 years of experience in the Aviation industry across several systems and disciplines. For the past ten years his principle area of focus has been on Avionics networks. He has been responsible for coordinating the introduction of Controller Area Network (CAN) into large-scale passenger aviation starting with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and continuing to the currently in-work 777X. He has represented the company in industry, co-chairing the ARINC 825 technical working group to define an industry level standard for CAN.

Ellis Gayles: PhD., (Ret) Commander, US Navy • Aerospace Physiologist (Copy)

Recently retired, Ellis was the Director of Aviation Survival Training Center, Miramar. As an Aerospace Physiologist he provided training and expertise to the US Navy and Marine Corps aviation, ground and special operations units including: aviation/high altitude physiology, life support systems, and human performance. Prior to joining the military, Ellis was the Director of a prestigious research laboratory at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center directing engineering design and physiology research. Ellis currently pursues health related research projects for the DOD and DARPA.

Rob Willis: LTC (Ret) US Army • Defense Attache' • Business Development (Copy)

Rob was the Director of Aerospace and International Programs for a respected ‘Integrations’ firm with responsibility for international technology transfer, technical engineering programs, and oversight of aviation engineering services. Prior to that post, Rob enjoyed a successful 23-year Army career featuring aviation, engineering, flight test, and international acquisition. Rob holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, and National Security and Strategic Studies, and also trained at the Armaments and Defense Economics Institute in Paris.

Greg Lausin: CW4 (Ret) US Army • Experimental Test Pilot, The Boeing Co. (Copy)

Greg’s a highly seasoned Experimental Test Pilot with Boeing Rotorcraft Test and Evaluation based in Mesa, Arizona. After serving in the US Army for over 20 years, Greg joined the Boeing team in 2006. During his tenure in the US Army, he served as an Experimental Test Pilot, Instructor Pilot, and Maintenance Pilot while having numerous combat and operational assignments that included Honduras, Panama, Germany, Bosnia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Greg is a graduate of the US Naval Test Pilot School and has extensive experience with the integration of aircraft systems.

Dean Kline: VP of Communications, Asterope LLC (Copy)

Dean has spent more than 25 years in high technology corporate communications at companies that include IBM, AMD, and Dell, Inc. His responsibilities include organizing communications programs, speech writing, managing trade events, PR program management, directing the management of worldwide employee communications, as well as product and technology press releases and customer public relations.
